Update to Child Protection Procedures

Revised Child Protection Procedures as of September 1st 2023 replace the previous Procedures of 2017.

Please note the following amendments:

  • BOM are enabled to undertake their oversight arrangements while not disclosing the identity of the member of school personnel against whom an allegation is made or disclose the identity of a child to the board. This information must now be anonymized in the documents provided as part of the Child Protection Oversight Report.
  • Clarification that the Child Safeguarding Statement always includes a Risk Assessment. It is one document and BOM must use the most recent mandatory template.
